  The Heat Seaking Thermocouple

FTLD

FTLD Continuous Thermocouple is a slender (4.0mm, .160 in. dia. overall), Teflon-coated heat seeking thermocouple that accurately monitors the maximum temperature existing anywhere along its entire length, then tracks the increase, even if the location of the "hot spot" changes.

With continuous lengths of up to 2000 feet (600meters) FTLD provides a powerful and cost effective way to monitor expansive commercial, industrial and residential applications with only a few standard thermocouple instruments.

FTLD will detect temperatures that can result in product thawing (cold storage) or electronic component damage (computer rooms or cable trays) long before there is smoke or flames.

If you’re concerned about product loss or damage due to overheating below where Fixed Point Linear Heat Detectors are activated (68°C - 155°F), FTLD may be the sensor for you.

  FTLD
  FTLD is:
STABLE: Virtually false-alarm proof
SLIM: .160 inch (4.0mm) OD Overall
MOISTURE RESISTANT
SELF-GENERATING: Requires no external power
ACTIVE: Provides real-time temperature information, early warning, pre-alarms and rate of rise information
COMPATIBLE WITH MANY STANDARD INSTRUMENTS: K-type millivolt signal
SELF-RESTORING: Not damaged by temperature excursions up to 177°C (400°F), so returns to normal
NORMAL OPERATING RANGE: -40°C (-40°F) to 150°C (350°F)
SURVIVAL RANGE: -40°C (-40°F) to 177°C (400°F)
UNAFFECTED BY COLD WEATHER: No alarm point change
MAXIMUM CONTINUOUS LENGTH: 2000 feet (600 meters)
A SIMPLE APPARATUS: For use in hazardous areas
FLEXIBILITY: Very
