  Overheat Detection and Protection
For Computer Installations

Loss prevention in computer installations require the earliest possible warning as to undesirable temperature increases. While losses resulting from fire are obvious, damages suffered from extinguishing action (water, foam, etc.) can be just as devastating. That's why the operative word here is "loss" not "fire". FTLD's unique ability to provide an early warning alarm only a few degrees above normal makes it invaluable in protecting the electronics in these critical areas. Couple that with the fact that FTLD is virtually free from false alarms, and an FTLD Overheat Detection System is the only solution for computer rooms.
Single fixed point linear heat detectors, similar to those manufactured by The Protectowire Company, give their first (and only) alarm at a minimum of 155°F (38.6°C). Is this early enough warning?

The
alarm points for an FTLD Overheat Detection System are user selectable - you decide the temperature that is too hot for you. With the early warning provided by this system, you will have valuable time to investigate the heat source BEFORE there is smoke or flame and BEFORE your suppression system is activated. Our systems can also provide dry contact closures to tie into your existing monitoring equipment.
